Featuring Gerg Anidem and His Internet Radio Station Indie Scene Radio

I love music and love that Gerg helps many indie musicians on his show. Please read his bio below and listen to his radio station. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Gregory Medina BIO

Gregory Medina, known as “Gerg Anidem” to fans and listeners of his internet radio station, Indie Scene Radio, (www.indiesceneradio.com), has been involved in music, in one form or another, all his life. At the young age of 8, he performed solo for the first time for his elementary school’s holiday variety show in 3rd grade singing and playing guitar to “Puff the Magic Dragon”. When receiving a standing ovation for his performance, the stage bug was planted.  A short time later, he entered into the world of Drum and Bugle Corps, playing snare drum in competition, parades and special events for 5 years and winning a championship in 1972.  After high school, he was involved with local bands, first as a Lighting Director/Stage Manager then as the lead singer, a bass player and percussionist with several groups eventually doing studio work playing drums, bass and back-up vocals for different studio projects. While taking a break from music (although not entirely) to raise his son, Greg started to get back into writing and recording his own material and eventually performing live at local cafés and Open Mic events around New England and starting his own EP recording project.

In July 2013, after volunteering for seven months as a DJ for another internet radio station, Indie Scene Radio was launched by this life long musician and independent music advocate, from the Metro-West area of Boston, MA and the station currently has 95 countries spanning all 5 continents with the station’s internet ranking and popularity continually improving every month. The station is powered by an internet radio broadcast streaming service that streams at an amazing 320Kbps for THE BEST audio on the internet broadcasting playlists (24/7/365). Indie Scene Radio regularly maintains the ranking as #1 Indie station on its global internet radio service network, providing independent musician’s global exposure.

As the station Owner, Program Director and DJ, I host a LIVE show called, "The GERG SHOW", every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 - 8PM EST, (-5GMT) when I introduce new, independent music artists every show. The programming format focuses on promoting, what I feel are, the best of the best Independent Musicians/Artists from around the world with music from a wide variety of genres including; Rock, Folk, Metal, R&B, Americana, Country, Singer/Songwriter and more. All independent music artists are encouraged to submit their work for air play consideration via the Submit Music page on the station website. If selected for airplay, the station processes the music files by adding them to the station library, then, once a qualified artist is featured on my live show, their song(s) are placed into one of the rotation playlists so artists can then proudly promote the fact that each of their song(s) are getting played a minimum of 45 times, each and every month on the station while in rotation!

How we work is via the principle of reciprocity. The station promises to promote the independent artists, using of all the stations’ social media accounts while the artists agree to do the same for the station. Each week, we change the cover photo on Facebook to feature one of the artists as the “ISR Artist of the Week” which includes their bio and link information as well as posting their photo to the home page on our website, which includes a link to the artists’ website! The station also encourages the artists to create radio spots for airplay, post their shows and general updates on the Facebook page, which feeds directly to our Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest accounts, to aide in gaining a wider audience and fan base for all. Sound good? You bet it does! We’re helping Main Street artists become Mainstream Stars”, says Gerg Anidem. He was nominated this year in the 2014 Worcester Music Awards for, Best Radio DJ, in his home state of Massachusetts.
